Ascend Business Update
Welcome New Customers!
It’s been a busy year getting new customers online with Ascend. So far we’ve welcomed nearly 100 locations to the family. We’re glad to have you with us.
Ascend Version 2.6:
We’re happy to announce that Version 2.6 will be available for early release on Monday night (6/24). It’s been running in our beta dealers for several weeks. We’ll make it available for everyone in two weeks. Here are some highlights:
- We’ve made several improvements to the On-Sale feature. A product can now be on more than one On-sale. If you need to end an On-Sale immediately you can change the end date to an earlier date. You can also expand your search for adding on sale items to include child categories.
- We’ve made it easier to work with the MC1000 handheld file. You now have an option to create a file that contains only active products. This will dramatically reduce the size of the file. If the MC1000 is connected to your computer when creating the file, Ascend will automatically copy the INDATA file to the device for you.
- You can now specify which payment types should automatically open your cash drawer and which ones should not.
- We’ve made changes to speed up the Order screen when receiving products.

Our top priority is to continuously deliver valuable improvements to help you with your business. Our work to bring you the next generation version of Ascend continues. But it’s a huge undertaking and will take longer than we expected. In the meantime we’re committed to keep shipping improvements to you.

Introducing the Ascend Customer Network:
The Ascend Customer Network is a new tool to help us better communicate with you, our customers, and for you to communicate with each other. It’s powered by Yammer, an enterprise social networking platform. To learn more about it, go to https://www.yammer.com/product/. 200 people have joined the network so far.
