Time to focus
For most of the country, January is a pretty slow time in terms of sales. But that makes it a great time to focus on the aspects of your business that tend to fall to the wayside when the busy season hits. This week, take some time to make a plan to get the most out of your system this year.
GYBWA: This February and March, we’re offering several sessions of our one-day Grow Your Business with Ascend seminars at locations across the continent (yes, that includes you, Canada!). Join us to get personalized training specific to your business.
Spots are filling fast, though, so sign up and reserve yours today!
Get your grade: Can’t make it to one of the Grow Your Business with Ascend seminars, but still want to see how your store stacks up against our recommended best practices? The Ascend Health Checkup online report breaks down several different areas of your system and gives you a score in each one. And each score is color-coded, so you can quickly scan through your results to see where you need to concentrate your energy.
There are two easy ways to run the report (please note, it may take a few minutes for the report to run):
- From Ascend, navigate to Reports. Expand the Inventory section, then double-click on Ascend Health Checkup (with the green dot).
- From Ascend Online Reports, locate the Inventory section and click the link for the Ascend Health Checkup. If you’re a multi-store retailer, select the Location you want to view the report for and click Run Report.
Each metric explains why we recommend a particular practice and gives you instructions on how to fix any issues. But if you need a little extra help, just contact the support team when you have some time to go through your results!
Personal experience: Last year, we announced that we’d be rolling out individual accounts for each and every one of our retailer locations. Unfortunately, we got a little waylaid.
Over the holidays, we rolled out a new and improved website, and now we’re ready to get back on track. These personalized logins will give us the opportunity to tailor the website to your individual needs – you won’t need to wade through files for other countries or for features that don’t apply to your business.
If you already requested a login last year, don’t worry, we still have your information!
If you haven’t requested access yet, just fill out this form. The shared ascendsupport login will only continue to work for a limited time after we issue the new accounts, so don’t delay!
Trek sizing update: Starting in February, Trek bikes will be advertised using a “t-shirt style” sizing scheme. Instead of varying measurements, sizing will be based on an XS to XXL sizing chart. Read up on this change on Dexter. Use Ascend’s Export In-Store Products feature to change your products en masse: from the Ascend Desktop, select the File menu > In-Store Products. When you’ve finished your changes in the exported spreadsheet, select the Ascend Desktop > File menu > Import > In-Store Products.
Trek pricing update: Starting January 20, pricing for select Trek bike models increased. Use the In-Store Pricing online report to update your pricing in Ascend: log into Ascend Online Reports, locate the In-Store Product section and click the In-Store Pricing link, then select a Location and click Run Report.
This report runs off of your real-time data, so be sure to download both files at the same time.
